At The Nudist, we want to do our part for a healthier environment and offering high-quality sustainable swimwear is only part of the equation. In today’s post, we are going to discuss some of the ways that we are working to make a change for the better. Keep reading and then take some time to think about how you, too, can make a difference.
What do you think when you think about the word “fashion”? I’m sure you think about historic fashion houses and style icons and glossy magazines. And yes, that is today’s understanding of fashion. But the word fashion actually comes from the latin “facere” which means “to make, to fashion”. Fashion and style have long been associated with beauty, elegance, culture, social movements and empowering those who wear the garments. But there is another side of fashion, that we don’t see as a consumer, and that is the actual fashioning part. Get it? The fashioning part of fashion? We tried something there...
Making choices that support a sustainable world is more important than ever. As the human population continues to rise, there is an increasing need to be more conscious of how we use resources, how we dispose of waste, and how our consumption practices affect the lives and health of those around us. At The Nudist, we don’t want to be part of the problem, we want to be part of the solution. And that’s why we’ve created a line of beautifully-made sustainable swimwear.
The most interesting, we thought, was Sarakíniko. With its white rocks and the most beautiful turquoise water, it’s perfect for swimming, cliff diving, or just reading a book and relaxing. The best part: no chairs, no beach bar, no loud music. Just the sea, and you. And plenty of other people, of course! Bring food and lots of sunscreen ( mineral sunscreen) and leave the stress at home, because this is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been to.
Everyone is talking about being more sustainable, ditching plastic, and ultimately making an effort to save the planet.
But what exactly does that entail? And where can you start? And does that mean you have to throw away your smartphone, sell your car, quit your job (because it’s not eco-friendly) and start munching kale?Well, no, but we have to admit a little time away from the phone and a little bit of plant nutrition never hurt anyone.
Here, at the Nudist, we decided to take a shot at explaining the shift in mindset that we all need in order to understand why it is so important to make these changes in our lives and how it’s not actually as painful as it sounds.
Here is where we will be posting all our news relating to the website, pieces of information that we find interesting, our thoughts and stories and we hope you will find them interesting enough to read them.
